The White Rose Challenge 2009
Thank You for your support, we will see you again in 2010!
Raffle winners:
Mountain Bike won by Mrs Nicola Raistrick, Ilkley
Talisker Whiskey won by Howard Breakspear of Leeds
We have still not received all the sponsored riders details (if this is you, please contact us), however we will post the shirt winners on here and inform them shortly.
Is a new event run by the event organiser who brought you the White Rose Classic and stays loyal to the original routes. However the event is not run or sanctioned by British Cycling, but by a team of volunteers with the specific aim of turning this into a yearly event to raise funds for charities. In 2009 we are supporting Cancer Research UK, but looking forward to 2010 (and beyond) we intend to involve local community charities.
Run along the same lines as many European cyclo-sportive events, it offers three routes which take you through some of the toughest terrain in the Yorkshire Dales. With the epic long route taking in the climbs of Fleets Moss and Garsdale Head, then heading up and over Malham moor (see picture on left) it really is a showcase event for the best the beautiful Yorkshire Dales has to offer.
With Gold, Silver and Bronze standards available for each of the three routes, depending on your time, you can set your own personal challenge and most cyclists will find a route to suit their ability. |
